the BAD-files (vol. 3)
Again I want to stress the fact that this is my opinion, not some cheap sales
trick in order to increase the number of orders. Of course it's promotion, but if you wonder,
I can assure you that this is what I honestly think.
Suddenly volume 3 of the BAD-files is here. I was rather caught by surprise this time.
I had actually expected it to be yet another week of trembling anticipation before I could slip
this disc into the cd player. Once again I'm stunned of what Pirate Radio Numero Uno delivers
13 tracks of "new" BAD sound. Most of it is stuff we've all heard before, but hardly these
versions. Some of them I didn't even know existed until I got this release in my hands. The
alternate version of "Mr. Walker Said" is one hell of a surprise. I gotta admit that if the
sleeve didn't say so, I'd think it was a completely different song.... I won't spoil the
thrill for those of you who haven't gotten the disc yet, and say too much about each song.
I'll leave it up to you to make up your own mind. I guess you already know that I'm thrilled
about this disc.
For those of you who have volume 1 and 2, the artwork on volume 3 is just as good. It can fool
anyone to believe it's an official release! We're talking about a masterpiece here!
The sound quality is just getting better and better, not that it has ever been poor, but you can
hardly hear that the master tapes are just that, tapes, and vinyl, and demos. I wonder what the
sound quality will be on volume 7 and 8....
The tracklist consists of different mixes and versions of songs that are originally "easy" to
get hold of, but you've gotta have these versions too. And what a nice opportunity to expand
and improve your collection of BAD music this is. In fact, the alternate version of "Mr. Walker
Said" is worth the price alone....
I can hardly wait for the next disc.... and this time it won't take long...!!!!!
