the BAD-files (vol. 6)
After a long wait, volume 6 of my favourite compilation series is finally here!
Pirate Radio Numero Uno has done it once again, although the tracklist isn't as stunning as some of the previous volumes have been. Song by song, this sixth chapter in the "lost" story of BAD is a bit of a disappointment to me... Well disappointment might not be the right word to use, but the tracklist is not to my satisfaction. Hey, I'm already spoilt with volume 1-5. The reason why I'm not as happy with this one, as I've been with the previous discs, is the simple fact that I already have all the songs here.
But as I said, I'm amongst the spoilt ones, and the lucky ones to already have all of these songs. However, if I didn't already have them all I'd be thrilled by this disc. "Seven Years", previously unreleased.... this is the reason why you oughtta get this one too. The rest iof the songs are not that difficult to get hold of. That's if you've been a fan of BAD since the very beginning, and collected your share of their official releases.
Three songs taken from promo's, five songs from singles, two songs from MP3, one song from "Lost treasures...", one from "Planet BAD" (WHY???) and finally one song taken from a demo.
So far, this might sound like I don't like this disc at all, but that's not the fact. This is a really good collection of BAD rarieties, and it fits superbly in with the first 5 discs. And this is IT. The BAD-files ain't 8 different discs, it's a set of 8 discs that should be cherished and appreciated as a whole... aouch, this sounds a bit weird, but I guess you know what I mean. The thing is, I can hardly wait to have them all in my cd collection... this is actually something to brag about... well most of my mates are a bit jealous. Even if you do have all these songs already, please note that the sound is just so much better here, than on a tape.
And the artwork....? Well I've said it five times already, "Prof" really knows how to do this. The sleeve is a masterpiece!
